How to Get There

Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is located about 510 kilometers southwest of Kampala, Uganda’s capital.

By Air: Take a domestic flight from Entebbe to the southwestern town of Kisoro, which is the closest town to the park. To get to the park from Kisoro, you can arrange for a transfer or hire a taxi.

By Road: This is the most common mode of transportation to the park. Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is accessible by road from Kampala and other major Ugandan cities. The drive from Kampala to Kisoro takes approximately 9–10 hours. The roads are generally paved, but some sections may be rough or under construction, so bring a powerful vehicle or hire a driver with experience in the area. If you are connecting from Kigali International Airport in Rwanda, it will be a 3–4-hour drive to the park.
