This 1-day Ngamba Island chimps tour takes you to visit the rescued chimpanzees of Ngamba Island in Lake Victoria. The Sanctuary takes care of orphaned or injured chimpanzees from the wild and offers them a new natural habitat of lush rainforest.
After the 45-minute boat cruise to the island, you will enjoy a full day of seeing and learning about all the various aspects of chimpanzees and the conservation work happening at Ngamba Island Chimpanzee Sanctuary.
There is a whole host of activities you can enjoy including overnight excursions, fishing, Ngamba trail hike, sunset cruise, caregiver, and more. You get to choose what you want to do.
This day tour is ideal in cases when going to see chimpanzees in Kibale National Park is not possible and yet you would love to meet chimpanzees in a natural environment.
The Ngamba Island Chimps tour can be undertaken as a stand-alone trip or as part of a longer Uganda safari that visits other parts of the country. In either case, talk to us and we’ll help you plan and enjoy a visit to these rescued chimps that now thrive on lake Victoria’s Ngamba Island.
As with all our safari packages, we can customize the program to fit your personal preferences. Just reach out to us and we’ll be eager to help you.
