Day 1: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Arrive at Entebbe International Airport and connect to your scheduled domestic flight to Kisoro Airstrip. Your 4 Days Gorilla Tracking Uganda Safari driver/ guide will be waiting to welcome you at Kisoro Airstrip and take you on a scenic drive through the beautiful hills and local villages of Kigezi to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

Day 2:Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today is the big day! Prepare yourself for an encounter with the gentle giants; the rare mountain gorillas.

For most people, this is the absolute highlight of their 4 Days Gorilla Tracking Uganda Safari. You will go into the forest in groups of not more than 8 in search of mountain gorillas. En route, your guide will point out previous signs of gorilla activity such as dung, nests, and chewed bamboo shoots.

Your trek will be an exciting journey along forested slopes, entwined vines, bushes, and bamboo. Upon finding the gorillas, you will spend a maximum of 1 hour with them after which you will be led back to the starting point.

Day 3:Community Visit

After breakfast, at your leisure, you will visit the Batwa and Bakiga communities for cultural and traditional experiences. Buy local crafts and experience traditional music and dance.

Day 4: Fly back to Entebbe Airport

When is the best time to go for this safari?

While Uganda is warm and sunny all year round, the best time for this safari is during the dry season months. The dry season happens between December and February, as well as from June to September.

For Gorilla trekking, the dry season makes it easier to hike through the thick forest in search for the mountain gorillas.

Keep in mind, gorillas live in high altitude moist rainforests where it can rain any time of the year without even the slightest warning. You still have to carry a light waterproof jacket, and some warm clothing for the cold nights of the Kigezi highlands.
