Ishasha Wilderness Camp – Queen Elizabeth N.P

Ishasha Wilderness Camp is a luxury eco-friendly camp located in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. This exclusive camp combines outstanding service with the charm of a wilderness tented camp in this pristine area.

The camp has ten canvas-tented rooms with private verandahs overlooking the Ntungwe River. The interiors are simple but elegant and are furnished with en suite ‘bush’ showers and a flushing ‘eco-friendly’ toilet.

The central area of the camp is located near the river and is thatched in the traditional safari style. It is a very open structure with lovely river views. Guests can unwind in the spacious lounge and dine in the restaurant, which also serves as a bar.

Dining can also be al fresco on the riverbanks where elephants can sometimes be seen bathing in the river. There is a fire pit area, a curio shop, complimentary Wi-Fi, and charging stations in the dining area.

Activities available at the lodge include game drives and bush walks in some of the park’s unspoiled areas. This includes the Ishasha savannahs, where one can see tree-climbing lions resting in the branches of large fig trees.

There are also opportunities to go bird watching, wildlife viewing in a hot air balloon, and visiting the nearby community to see the local schools and traditional medicinal herbalists.

Large and potentially dangerous animals pass through this property because it is unfenced and situated in a wildlife area. If you choose to stay here, be cautious when walking around the camp and request that a member of staff accompanies you after dark or if you have any concerns.
