Murchison River Lodge is an accommodation facility located on the southern bank of the River Nile in Murchison Falls National Park. Its beautiful surroundings make you feel comfortable & relaxed after your day game drive in the park. They have thatched cottages and safari tents with good shade outside and are self-contained.
Also available is a good camping site where you can be able to bring your camping gear. The restaurant serves fresh food prepared by the Chefs, Coffee & tea are also available.
The bar is well stocked with drinks that can be served either warm or cold. The Lodge runs on electricity powered by solar energy since it’s located in a place that is normally hot throughout the year.
Murchison Falls National Park is Uganda’s largest national park covering 3,480 sq km and is bisected by the Victoria Nile, which plunges 45 meters over the remnant rift valley wall, creating the dramatic Murchison Falls.
A lot of activities can be done there like Birding, Game Drives, launch trips, sport fishing & many more.
The swimming pool at Murchison River Lodge is perfectly built in between several trees and gives you an amazing view of the Nile. You will also find a craft shop where you can buy a souvenir to take back home.
Inside the Lodge along the main wall, in the restaurant, there is a “timeline” with photos showing the history of Murchison Falls National Park and a few niches where books are kept for your enjoyment. Hammocks, sofas, and picnic tables are all provided within the vicinity of the bar and terrace.
Murchison River Lodge doesn’t support credit card facilities, so be sure to move around some cash also there is no air-conditioning system and this is because it’s in a remote place.
