Buhoma Haven Lodge – Bwindi Impenetrable N.P

Buhoma Community Haven Lodge is a mid-range accommodation close to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. The lodge is located above Buhoma village and offers breathtaking views of the Bwindi forest.

The lodge is owned by the community, and the lodge’s profits benefit the community. In addition, the lodge uses green energy and maintains a sustainable program with neighboring communities.

Haven Lodge currently has 8 beautifully designed cottages and 1 family cottage available. The self-contained cottages are elevated off the ground to give the impression of being in a treehouse. Guests can enjoy breathtaking views of the pristine forest from the wide balconies and even the shower!

Just a short stroll away from the cottages is the lodge’s two-story wooden communal area. There is a restaurant, a bar, a lounge, a massage room, and a gift shop.

Buhoma takes pride in serving delicious and filling cuisine in its restaurant. They serve a blend of Western and African cuisine prepared with locally grown ingredients. A lunch pack is also available for gorilla trackers to keep them going.

The bar and lounge are next to the restaurant. The lounge has comfortable wood-framed seating around coffee tables, a few stools, and a warm fireplace. The bar is well-stocked with a wide variety of drinks, as well as complimentary Wi-Fi and charging stations.

There is a gift shop where you can buy African craft souvenirs and postcards to take home. After gorilla tracking, relax with a rejuvenating full-body massage in the massage room.

The main activity that guests who stay here do is gorilla tracking. Buhoma Community Haven Lodge is located near the Buhoma trailhead, giving it a good vantage point. A Buhoma Community village walk, a Batwa cultural experience, bird watching, forest walks, and forest waterfall hikes are offered besides gorilla tracking.

Since children under the age of 15 are not permitted to go gorilla tracking, Haven Lodge offers a variety of activities with a babysitter to keep them occupied at the lodge while you go gorilla trekking in the wild.
