Saruni Samburu Lodge is located in Kalama Conservancy and borders Samburu National Reserve. Saruni Samburu is perched on the edge of an escarpment with panoramic views of the reserve and surrounding wilderness.
The lodge features six open and spacious luxurious villas with spectacular views of Mount Kenya in the distance. Each villa is constructed of stone and thatch and is furnished with traditional Samburu artwork and textiles. The villas have en-suite bathrooms, dressing rooms, spacious living and dining areas, and outdoor verandahs.
The lodge is known for its innovative, eco-chic architecture, interesting design and décor, and Italian-inspired cuisine. Guests can eat in the dining area, which is located in the lodge’s main communal area. The main area also includes a lounge and a bar where guests can relax and enjoy their favorite drinks.
For guests to relax and enjoy, the lodge has two swimming pools and the Samburu Wellbeing Space. The lodge also allows guests to learn about the wildlife of the Mara and the culture of the Samburu people. This may be through activities such as game drives, bush walks, and cultural excursions. Guests are guided by Samburu warriors who are passionate about their land and culture.
Guests can also enjoy activities such as fly camping, bird watching, and stargazing.
A ground-level photographic hide next to a waterhole allows guests to observe the famous Samburu elephant, leopard, reticulated giraffe, Beisa oryx, and Grevy’s zebra drinking.
