Fort Murchison Lodge – Murchison Falls N.P

Fort Murchison is a unique African safari lodge set on the Eastern banks of the Albert Nile just outside the northern boundaries of Murchison Falls National Park. The lodge’s distinctive aesthetics are provided by the massive tower, the earth-toned walls, and the Swahili-inspired design and furnishings.

Fort Murchison has a range of comfortable budget accommodation options to suit budgets ranging from mid to low.

The lodge has 12 en-suite units, each with a large bedroom, comfortable beds, and a shower with an abundance of hot water heated by solar panels. Writing desks and private balconies with sofas are standard amenities in every room.

In addition to the primary lodging, the lodge also provides tents that are not self-contained. Two single beds with mosquito nets, a bedside table, and an outlet are all comfortably provided in each of these rooms. You can also use the outlets to charge your electronics. A shared bathroom facility with showers and flushing toilets is shared by the tents.

Its restaurant is decorated with colonial drawings and paintings from the first explorers and adventures, transporting guests back to classic safari travel while keeping the modern African safari sanity. The restaurant serves a fixed menu but can accommodate special dietary needs.

On a hot afternoon, cool off in the pool or busk at the poolside before heading to the rooftop terrace for a sundowner with breathtaking views of the Albert Nile.

The proximity to Tangi gate (5km) allows access to a variety of guided activities in the park. These include game drives around the park to see biodiversity, boat rides around Lake Albert to see all the different types of bird species, particularly shoebills, a boat ride along the Nile to see most of the mammals, birds, and reptiles, including the Nile Crocodile, and hiking to the top of the magnificent Murchison Falls.
