This 6 day Uganda safari holiday takes you to the 3 most popular travel destinations in Uganda where you will get a chance to see chimpanzees, mountain gorillas and a wide range of savannah wildlife.

The trip will start off in Kampala and take you to western Uganda where you will see chimps and other primates in Kibale National Park. From Kibale, you will continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park for the wildlife experience of lions, leopards, elephants, hippos, birds and so much more.

After Queen Elizabeth NP, your next destination of Bwindi is where you will track mountain gorillas in the thick natural rainforest. You will spend some time observing the gorillas and get to take plenty of photos to remember the moment you met a family of endangered mountain gorillas in the forest.

After your gorilla trekking experience, you will head back to Kampala where the trip ends.

Itinerary

Day 1: Drive to Kibale National Park

Your Guide/ Driver will pick you from Kampala and drive west via Hoima – fort portal road to Kibale Forest National park. Fort-Portal rests in the shadow of the fabled Mountains of the Moon. Lunch will be en-route depending on the time, your guide will advise where to stop.

Day 2: Track Chimpanzees in Kibale National Park

Early morning, visit Kibale Forest National Park, where you enjoy a guided walk in search of chimpanzee and 12 other primates including l’ Hoestes, Red colobus, blue, red-tailed monkeys, brown monkeys and gray – cheeked mangabey. The guide will provide detailed explanations, not only on primates, but on all the forest fauna and flora and will ensure that your walk is informative and enjoyable. This walk is excellent for viewing bird life and seeing primates at close quarters. After lunch, visit the community and take a walk in Bigodi Swamp.

Day 3: Kibale to Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth NP

Drive south to the Ishasha Sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Mammalian specialities in this area include Giant Forest Hog and the legendary Tree-climbing Lions.

Day 4: Drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Today we drive through the “Switzerland of Africa” area known as the Kigezi Highlands, with its terraced hillsides and winding roads to Bwindi impenetrable forest.

Day 5: Mountain Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable NP

Early morning entry into the Gorilla sanctuary. This spectacular rainforest offers a dramatic steeply forested landscape which is incredibly dense and crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. This park is best known for its fascinating gorillas. The time is taken and the terrain varies according to the movements of the primates. The thrill of observing the gorillas is a rare, moving, awesome and exciting adventure. The gorilla is a shy and peaceful animal and it is an unforgettable experience to watch and photograph them as they interact.

Day 6: Transfer back to Kampala

After breakfast, Drive back to Kampala stopping at the Mpigi Royal Drum Makers en route where you will be able to watch ceremonial drums being crafted using methods passed down through generations. There will also be time to stop at the equator for photographs. You arrive in Kampala in the early evening.
