Kidepo Valley National park is found in Uganda, on the north eastern part near the border of South Sudan and Kenya. Its 1442 square kilometers in size dominated by 2750 meters of Mount Morungule and transected by the Kidepo and Narus Rivers. The few who make the long journey to the north through the wild frontier region of Karamoja would agree that it is also the most magnificent, for Kidepo ranks among Africa’s finest wildernesses.
The World Travel Awards brand is recognized globally as the ultimate hallmark of industry excellence. The Awards were established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries.
Kidepo Valley National park was nominated in the Category of Africa’s leading National park against the others which are Central Kalahari Game Reserve in Botswana, Etosha National Park in Namibia, Kruger National Park in South Africa, Masai Mara National Reserve in Kenya and Serengeti National Park in Tanzania.
From Apoka in the heart of the park, a savannah landscape extends far beyond the gazetted area, towards horizons outlined by distant mountain ranges. During the dry season, the only permanent water in the park is found in wetlands and remnant pools in the broad Narus Valley near Apoka. These seasonal oases, combined with the open, savannah terrain, make the Narus Valley the park’s prime game viewing location. A lot of activities can be done in Kidepo which include Birding, Hiking & Nature walks, Game drives, Cultural encounters and more.
