Engagi Lodge in Bwindi is a modern lodge in a breathtaking setting offering stunning views over the forest canopy. The lodge is situated in a large tract of land contiguous to the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, and runs from the main road to the Park Headquarters down to the Munyaga river. Engagi lodge consists of just 8 en-suite cottages, spaced out and hidden in the foliage. Each cottage has either double or twin beds, a bathroom with flushing toilets and hot and cold running water. All have private verandas where guests can enjoy their morning tea or coffee as they watch out over the forest canopy. Electricity is provided by solar power with a back-up generator. Hot water is supplied by Eco-friendly wood burning boilers.
The kitchen at Engagi lodge is built just meters away from the lodge and this gives you privacy. The restaurant offers 3 course meals by their team of experienced Kampala trained chefs and clients requirements are catered for i.e vegetarians. A walk down to the river to view the bird-life & flora of the surrounding area will give you the utmost relaxation of your mind.
Getting to Engagi Lodge
It could take you around 9 hours to drive from Kampala to Engagi lodge or 1 hour to fly from Entebbe to Kihihi airstrip which is near the lodge located in Bwindi forest. You can choose to relax here after your Gorilla Trekking Experience
